Well organised, I liked Mona's teaching style. class had a nice relaxed pace.

I am scared of heights, but really wanted to learn how to get over that. Mona brings exactly the right kind of encouragement to get me up even the highest wall, and thanks to her I have now done a lot more advanced climbs than I ever thought possible. Would highly recommend her as an instructor, and look forward to my next course with her!

First time climbing outdoors! Mona and Alex made it perfect. They recommended a slightly cloudy day, which worked out amazingly, as we had our pickings in routes. We stayed there for hours and they really tailor made every part of the trip for us. Can't recommend them enough.

I met Mona at work teaching outdoor skills to teenagers. We got on from the start and since have been on several outdoor climbing and hiking trips. Mona is very confident at navigating and climbing and can teach you the skills you need to progress in the outdoors.

I really enjoyed top rope climbing under Mona’s watchful eye. It was the second time I had tried it and was quite nervous. Her teaching style is calm and encouraging. I felt safe in her hands and would like to have a go at it on real rocks with her soon!

We arranged a walk with navigation lesson with Mona. Mona was kind enough to offer us a lift but as it was fairly close to my Mum's house it wasn't needed. In no time at all we had been taught to use a scale map and compass to get around the park and had a game of animal bingo. It was a really enjoyable day and we'll be sure to arrange another one soon. She tailored the walk and the course to the needs of my mother in law. As soon as I made enquiries Mona gave me 3 very good choices for a walk. Bushy park was an excellent choice and the weather couldn't have been better. Mona brought some competition onto the walk by

She tailored the walk and the course to the needs of my mother in law. As soon as I made enquiries Mona gave me 3 very good choices for a walk. Bushy park was an excellent choice and the weather couldn't have been better. Mona brought some competition onto the walk by completing an animal bingo. Mona had clearly researched the park and was able to tell us interesting facts about it. I never thought I will get using a map and compass so quick but with Mona teaching at the end of the walk I was quite confident to find the next path. She also tempted me to attend her rock climbing sessions so watch this space!

I thought your relaxed teaching style is really good especially for someone like me prone to nerves. You gave me space to freak out and let me work through some of my fear which I think will benefit your students. You explain the theory in a very accessible way as well. I didn't really have any improvement points.

Mona made me feel at ease immediately by starting gently and having a chat about what to get out of session and sharing simple hooks to work from eg focus on technical, physical, psychological aspects. Then applied it when watching me climbing like asking if it was fear or lack of strength that stopped me making a move and making me reflect that on that. Good structure to coaching not feeding to much info at once to process. Attention to detail. Relating to the climbers experience to make climber feel more confident. Positive encouragement choosing routes she could see I can do but which I wasn’t necessarily confident in before she encouraged me eg last overhang 6a and giving me time to apply learnings from other routes.

Overall I thought it was very good, and I feel I would be comfortable and confident now to go indoor lead climbing/belaying on my own. The fall practice was particularly helpful, both for the belayer and the climber, as it takes a lot of the apprehension away.
